  • NOBLE POETRY

  • You Kiss the Sun, Promise the Moon

    Crooked steps just
             a seconds glimpse behind.
    Perfect trail before me,
             each step toward a gift.

    Then I caught sight
In the distance, at a cost
    of something inside

I saw you kiss the lips
             of the sinking Sun
    locked in burning embrace

    My steps faltered
             O' how completely I struggled
    that entire frozen moment

    And O' how the next
             and the next

    Then the next I tasted
              betrayal so profound

O' how my vivid light died
               I relived the scene imprisoned
    In place questioning my eyes

    Defeated, wondering your motives
               I cried, needing answers
    I tried more and more

O' I dug deeply into this need
               i closed the miles, closing
    Such distance between us

    Then it was much closer
I witnessed once the day was faded

    Close I heard you whispering
Your gaze facing the twilight sky
Words my heart has never known

A little more my world fell dark
              As you reached up
your hands upon the Moon's full face

    Pulling her down from heaven,
to your promises as you smiled

    You....
              Kissing the sun,
    Promising the moon,

    As I watched
              your growing shadow
    a silouhette to follow

    A chase of the impossible
              Yet I can't give up
    All i do is follow,

And look , and press on
               just to get close enough

    To tell you my reason
Because You are still my sun,
    Though you have another

    You are my setting moon,
             my unobtainable,...
and my reasoning for every step,
    every mile...

I give chase and myself completely
See how very far I would go
    Have gone, did try

    just to prove myself

    worthy and for all this

    I loved
    My world.
