In your frightening loneliness, you make friends with your loneliness, your exclusion. Is this how you manufacture your shackles against yourself, which you deliberately designed for the sake of social gatherings?! Do you not feel it in yourself? Thy beating, wounded heart still yearns for a meaningful, sincerity-soaked conversation, which, as a wandering stranger, even a barman or bar-mixer might prefer to keep quiet.

You yourself would open your bravely thirsting throat to truer, more accepting words with reassuring confidence. Thyself more and more thou understandest the beating of thy troubled heart - Thou canst at most offer it to thy immortal One as a noble sacrifice; with impatient mercy thou art only anxious that He may at last accept and understand thee with Christlike clarity! Perhaps together with you, and at the same time, He will tighten the handle: together you may step upon the all-filling, substantial steps of the All, while with blessed sighing sounds, you send to Him the messages of accepted instinct, the messages of fulfilment.

Time's swirling, gloomy Time has already left its mark on you. Yet in the strange, self-contained days of thy youth Thou wouldst have been equipped to prepare The manners of acquaintance, of acquaintance: manly, stilted hedgehog-face. When are you going to shave off your bubbling thorns? To escape from your stubborn, always nagging nature, who else can do it? With gnashing tempers thou wakest, Thy gnashing shadow, thy only faithful companion, On thy bumpy way. For necessity compels you to conceal from yourself, for you are in terror alone, if life's gallant task should confront you, which you have not yet experienced, and to which you are ashamed to let unselfish help actively come knocking!
