Been Here Before

someday soon

we won’t remember this year

the loss. the fears.

and all of the tears

the money lost

the career, too

the remote “un-learning”

what do we do

 

the killer cops

who never stop

to see us as human

to prove they’re on top

all because

some don’t believe in facts

with a president 

that don’t have our backs

 

but the will of the people

is way too strong 

we will survive

and carry on

this isn’t the worst 

but far from the best

this years struggles

put us all to the test

we have been 

through so much more

and lived to survive
