Every little boy and girl -

    Knows of The Man -

    Even the bad ones -

    (Especially the bad ones)

The Man goes from house to house-

Taking what you most desire -

He wears a dapper suit - black - of course-

And a tall top hat sporting a raven’s feather -

Close your eyes - do you see him?

    Sporting a black cane-

Carrying it in the oddest fashion-

    He smells of things below-

His hair is ink - his eyes are blue-

    He’ll stop for anyone -

    Just ask him to-

His favourite book is To Kill a Mockingbird-

    As it should be-

No one knows where he belongs,

He doesn’t seem to - anywhere he goes -

    Figure out the riddle -

And maybe you’ll meet him - too.

    When the Lark trills-

    Her final song -

In the belly of the night-

    Swathed in starlight-

    Her voice rings out -

    One last call -

Laying in a bed of lavender -

    She falls silent -

    In her ill state -

    She makes out Master’s hand-

    Reaching for her stilling form-

The darkness swells in her vision-

    As she fades immediately.
