  • CHRISTMAS..

Autumn's nearly over, winter's looming near,
The season to be jolly, offering Christmas cheer,
Boys and girls are waiting, for Santa Claus to come,
A pair of socks for dad, I'm certain he wants Rum.

Mum is going shopping, buying seasonal treats,
Turkey for the main course, after dinner sweets,
For desert, plum pudding, minced pies for a snack,
Better clear the kitchen, she will soon be back.

Young ones are excited, what shall Santa bring?
Outside, people gather, to hear the carollers sing,
Brightly shining lanterns, lead them on their way,
    Families reunited, upon Christmas day.

Snowflakes are now falling, children try to sleep,
Santa will be rumbled, should one try to peep,
Rudolph waits with patience, and a shiny nose,
He accompanies Santa, everywhere he goes.

To all, I send good tidings, merriment and joy,
Christmas is for children, pray let them enjoy,
Families, friends and neighbours, sharing festive cheer,
Let love and peace reign over all, throughout the coming year...
