In the golden light of the hotel room
The skyscrapers stand tall in glowing gloom
I hold on to you, watch the stars and the moon
And the rooftop bar radio plays a magical tune

We walk the busy street in the evening light
The big city lights are shining bright
Like me and my smile, aglow at first sight
We kiss to my song and the world is alright

Coffee in bed and breakfast next to the park
You make me feel good not only after dark
Your blue eyes must have caught me off guard
I wish we could just be a happy couple in your backyard

But we don't make promises and I fear
That I miss you already while you're still here
Please don't change your mind and don't disappear
I can't go too long without having you near

Touching the sky like the towers
Never looking down, this city is ours
Like a bouquet of different colored flowers
Filled with the shape of happy hours

The last day with pizza and a glass of red wine
Baby, I mean it, I never felt that fine
Holding your hand pretending you're mine
Believing in magic, trying to freeze time

But at the end there's always a drive
To a place that brings us back to our lives
Mum and dad, dogs, kids and a wife
But in our memories this love stays alive
