A simple walk in the woods is a problem for me

I constantly think there is someone hiding behind every

Tree

Bush

Rock formation

Or in every riverbed

I know that these thoughts are just flashbacks

And thus not real

Part of me however, wants to lash out at every ghost I see

The memories and pain

Still run fresh

People tell me "The war is over"

Maybe so

But

Mentlely

Emotionally

Those scars will never trully heal

Those scares will always huant me
